Michael Rutter
Co-Chief Executive Officer
Founder
Michael Rutter is Co-Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Triton Midstream, where he is responsible for commercial development, corporate strategy, landowner relations, and long-term partnership alignment.
Prior to founding Triton, Michael served as Senior Vice President of Business Development at Pilot Water Solutions, and previously held a similar role at Oilfield Water Logistics, where he was responsible for structuring and advancing produced water midstream projects across multiple basins. His experience includes business development, commercial structuring, stakeholder engagement, and land and water stewardship for complex infrastructure projects.
Earlier in his career, Michael held commercial and operational roles at Baker Hughes, supporting energy and midstream development initiatives across a range of operating environments.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and an MBA from The University of Texas system.
Matt Thiel
Co-Chief Executive Officer
Founder
Matt Thiel is the Co-Founder and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Triton Midstream, where he oversees financial and risk management, investor relations, and corporate strategy. Prior to founding Triton, Matt served as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Rod and Tubing Services (RTS).
Earlier in his career, he was Chief Financial Officer of Oilfield Water Logistics, where he played a key role in developing and managing water midstream assets across multiple basins while executing the company’s M&A strategy. Matt also previously worked with the Stephens Energy Investment Group and as a consultant at Ernst & Young.
Matt holds an MBA from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy. He served as a Captain in the United States Army, completing four combat deployments.
Alan Van Reet
Chief Operating Officer
Founder
Alan Van Reet is Triton Midstream’s Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder, responsible for operations, engineering, and the development of scalable, responsible water-midstream infrastructure.
Prior to Triton, Alan was a founding member of Pioneer Water Management LLC (PWM), where he developed and led operations and engineering for more than a decade. Before PWM, he held engineering and operational leadership roles at Pioneer Natural Resources, with experience spanning international and domestic operations, including production and midstream facilities, onshore drilling, and gas plant operations.
Earlier in his career, Alan served as a submarine warfare officer in the United States Navy.
Alan earned a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School. He actively serves with youth and church organizations and as a Blue & Gold Officer supporting U.S. Naval Academy Admissions.
